Amarillo: Amarillo: The 8th Annual Llano Cemetery Tour

October 19 at 3:30pm to at 7:00pm

The eighth annual Llano Cemetery Tour by Twilight, scheduled for Saturday, October 19th from 3:30 to 7:00 pm will feature trolley tours of the grounds, including the newest section of the historic cemetery.  Participants will learn about the cemetery’s history, architecture and monuments and hear stories of past people and places. From the early head stone of Mrs. Lillian F. Morrow (1864-1888), the cemetery’s first burial, to the fanciful Woodmen of the World tree trunk markers, elaborate “gypsy” graves, or the imposing family mausoleums, history is found at each marker. This year’s tours will feature burials that have not been highlighted during the previous tours.  The Llano Cemetery Tour is a collaborative effort between PPHM and the Llano Cemetery Association.  Trolley cars are provided by Trolley Express. Cost to the event is $7 per person; children age 4 and under are free.  Enter the cemetery through the 34th Ave entrance.  Weather permitting.
