Like to learn about the rich heritage of our communities, while helping to make a difference in preserving it? The board of the Texas Plains Trail Region meets every other month at a site within our 52-county region, to conduct business and tour the area. The public is always welcome to attend, and these occasions are excellent opportunities to network with others, discuss best practices and new ideas, and explore the historical, cultural, architectural, and natural resources of Texas.
Wed., Apr. 15, 2015, 10 am, Goodnight, Texas (Armstrong County): Regular board meeting at the Goodnight Historical Center, with a program by Buffalo Gold Fibers owner Cecil Miskin. The business portion of our meeting typically lasts from 10 am to 11:15, with a program on local history from 11:20 to noon. Lunch will be served at the Cattalo Building afterward.
For those who would like to stay overnight in Amarillo or Clarendon the night prior, lodging is available at several local hotels.
Following the Thursday meeting, guests are invited to tour the Goodnight House, the Visitor Center, the Buffalo Gold store and gallery, and the Armstrong County Museum and Gem Theatre in nearby Claude.
