The Texas Historical Commission in conjunction with the Scurry County Museum will conduct a free oral history training workshop at the Scurry County Museum Sat., Mar. 15, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

This workshop is one of the last of a series across the state which began in 2006, and highlights the real places telling the real stories of Texas’ involvement in the war effort.

The workshops, Here and There: Recollections of Texas in World War II, are part of the THC’s national award winning Texas in World War II initiative, a program to honor and preserve the memories of Texans who served in the armed forces during World War II and the contributions made on the home effort. Historical markers, a commemorative brochure, a military/home front sites survey, and a web component are part of this program that enriches lives through history.
