In 1919 the town of Ochiltree picked up and moved from a location south of Perryton, to where the town is located today. Every year the town celebrates with a Wheatheart of the Nation Celebration. This year will mark the 96th year of Perryton where it stands. The month of August will consist of numerous activities, including golf tournaments, rodeos, concerts, and much much more!
The finale of the Wheatheart of the Nation Celebration will be held on August 22nd, 2015. The day will consist of a free breakfast at United Supermarkets, an impressive parade (complete with bands from all over the area), Museum of the Plains Parade Day, an art festival in the park, a BBQ lunch, AND a demolition derby!
