Aviators of the past remembered, aviators of the future inspired.
The Texas Air & Space Museum is located in Amarillo, Texas at exit 76 of Interstate Highway 40. The museum recently acquired a historic Douglas DC-3 aircraft that is the only airworthy aircraft listed on the nation's National Register of Historic Places. Following the arrival of that aircraft, the US National Park Service listed the Texas Air & Space Museum on its travel itinerary (Aviation: Sand Dunes to Sonic Booms).
